Our Programs ↘

We offer a wide range of programs—including affordable childcare, swim lessons and wellness opportunities, youth engagement, and equity and justice initiatives—in order to meet critical community needs while creating spaces where everyone feels welcome and supported. Each program is designed to foster confidence, build skills, and advance equity, making a lasting impact on individuals and families across Central Maine.

  • Aquatics

YWCA Central Maine has the only regulation-size fully accessible public pool in the Lewiston-Auburn area. From swim lessons to lap swimming to red cross certification, the YWCA pool is more than just a place to swim.

  • Childcare

Affordable, quality childcare is essential for families to thrive. Our Early Learning, Out-of-School Care and Summer Camp programs provide safe, nurturing, and enriching spaces where children learn, grow, and build friendships — while parents gain peace of mind.

  • Equity & Justice

At the heart of YWCA Central Maine’s mission is the commitment to eliminate racism and empower women. Through our Equity & Justice work, we bring this mission to life by creating spaces for dialogue, learning, and action that build a more just and inclusive community for everyone.

  • Health and Wellness

Health & Wellness is about connection, strength, and belonging. Our programs like MS Wellness, Aqua Fit, Swim Lessons and other inclusive fitness opportunities empower individuals of all abilities to move, heal, and thrive. We foster not just physical well-being, but a sense of community where everyone feels welcome and encouraged on their wellness journey.

YWCA takes care of 110 children daily.

Last year, we served over 21,000 meals to children in our care.

We gave $42,444 in scholarships for swim lessons and summer camp sessions in 2025.

YWCA Central Maine is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
