Walk into the YWCA Central Maine early on a weekday morning and you’ll hear it: laughter, greetings, a little friendly teasing — people catching up with friends they may have known for years. Our morning swimmers and Aqua Fitness participants come to move, build strength and start the day feeling good. Over time, they’ve built something more: a community. They notice when someone is missing. They celebrate birthdays and milestones. They encourage each other through difficult days.
This is what the YWCA does. Each year, we serve more than 2,200 community members in Lewiston-Auburn through our swim programs, childcare and summer camp, wellness programs, and our new Connectivity Hub.
