Summer Camp Registration
Sign up for Summer Camp! Ages 6-12
YWCA Summer Camps offers a different theme each week so children can explore diverse activities that meet the needs and interests of all participating children. Some of our past themes have included: art, animals and outdoor adventure, circus, and performance. YWCA summer camp includes daily swimming and weekly field trips to beaches and lakes, museums, parks, and other activities. Enrichment programming, STEAM activities, and special guests that are related to each week’s theme are provided to engage children’s interests and prevent summer learning loss. Children are provided breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Single Gender Swim
At YWCA Central Maine, our Single Gender Swim program provides a safe, supportive environment for women and girls to learn and improve their swimming skills. These classes are designed to help participants build confidence in the water, develop lifelong skills, and enjoy the health and wellness benefits of swimming—all without the distractions or self-consciousness that can sometimes come in co-ed settings. Whether learning to swim for the first time, improving technique, or preparing for water safety, our trained instructors provide personalized guidance and encouragement in a welcoming, empowering space.

Single Gender Swim
In service of our mission to eliminate racism and empower women, YWCA Central Maine continues to offer several opportunities for women requiring single-gender access to the pool to enjoy the water. These programs are open only to those identifying as women and girls (10 years and older) who may require or prefer privacy for personal, religious, safety, privacy, cultural, or any other reason. Only women-identified patrons are permitted in the pool or locker rooms. The viewing area to the pool is curtained off for privacy and no males are allowed in the pool area, including lifeguards and swim instructors. Women are encouraged to wear the clothing that they are most comfortable in in the pool.
Lewiston is our Project
Join Us to Create & Spread Hope! 💛
This Thursday, October 23 from 12–2 PM, the Lewiston is Our Project will be set up in the YWCA gym inviting community members to take part in a beautiful, collaborative art project.
Stop by to paint a small piece of wood (3x3 or 5x5 inches) that represents your vision of hope and share a brief one-minute reflection about it. Each piece will become part of a larger community art installation at the Lewiston Public Library, symbolizing the collective spirit and strength of our city.
Your contribution—both artistic and personal—will help build a deeper understanding of hope in our community.
Come create, share, and connect. Together, we are Lewiston.

Week Without Violence
Week Without Violence (WWV), Oct 20-24, is the YWCA movement’s opportunity to come together and advocate for a safer world for women, girls and families. This year’s theme, Safe Beginnings: Protecting Mothers, Nurturing Futures, is all about how we can support moms and their children as they build hopeful, healthier futures.
