Swim Lessons

“Every child deserves to feel safe and confident in the water. At YWCA Central Maine, our swim lessons teach essential life skills in a supportive, inclusive environment. For many families, this is their child’s first step toward a lifetime of safety and confidence.”

What Level Swim Lesson is right for my child?

Class Sizes

Classes are limited in size to provide individual attention to each student. Lessons focus on water safety, swim confidence, and skill development. Advancement through swim levels is based on current skill, coordination, growth, and behavior.

Class Placement & Safety

Children must meet the class description requirements to participate safely. If a swimmer is registered in a class that is not appropriate for their skill level, they may be removed from the class. The YWCA will make every effort to place the child in the correct class based on skill and ability.

Missed Classes

If you miss a class after the first day of the session for any reason, including illness, no refunds, make-up lessons, or passes will be provided. If you withdraw from the entire session before the first day, you will receive a one-year credit for a future swim session at the same rate. Additional fees apply if registering for a more expensive session
Voluntary cancellations or withdrawals do not receive refunds.
