Single Gender Swim

In service to our mission, we offer this program as a welcoming and inclusive opportunity for women and girls, particularly those who have faced barriers to accessing public pools and aquatic programs.

This FREE program is for those who identify as women and girls (ages 15+). It is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for those who prefer or require privacy for personal, cultural, religious, or safety reasons. The program fosters confidence, connection, and community while supporting overall health and well-being through access to water and swim experiences.

During this program, only women-identified participants are permitted in the pool area and locker rooms. To maintain privacy, the pool viewing area is closed and only women-identified lifeguards and swim instructors are on duty.

Participants should wear swim attire that feels comfortable and aligns with their needs, provided private areas are fully covered. For safety reasons, no excessively loose clothing or hardware (metal, etc.) is allowed into the pool.

Though this is a FREE program, registration is required at our Front Desk. For more info. about this program, contact: tsalter@ywcamaine.org.
