Lifeguard Training

YWCA Central Maine is proud to offer American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification classes.

Prerequisites: include completion of a 200-yard swim-tread-swim sequence (swim 150 yards, tread water with no hands for 2 minutes, swim another 50 yards), and a timed deep water object removal in 7-10 foot depths. Lifeguard certification is valid for 2 years. Must be 15 years of age or older.

Lifeguard Training – Check back for class dates

Cost: $375 (We are open to covering the cost of the course, provided you commit to continuing to work for the YWCA upon certification and complete our Training Agreement.)

Format: This course is done in a blended learning format which requires online training (approximately 5 hours to be completed before first in-person session.)
