Digital Equity and Workforce Development

Maine faces a critical challenge in workforce development and technical and digital skills. Via a core partnership with Maine Connectivity Authority, we share a vision for Maine where all of us have the reliable and affordable connection, devices, skills, and online security we need to take full advantage of the economic, educational, health, civic, social, and other benefits that the internet provides. Removing barriers to digital access is our goal!


YW Strive: Workforce Development and Digital Skills

This evidence-based course equips participants with critical digital literacy and workforce skills. The full 64-hour curriculum includes an introduction to using the full suite of Google apps and basic AI tools, resume-building, interviewing, financial literacy and independence, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence. leadership development, and more! The program seeks to move participants toward stable and meaningful employment, boost earning potential, expand educational and work opportunities, while supporting them to explore and refine personal strengths and goals. Classes are offered via remote, hybrid and in-person formats. The program is grant-funded and free to all participants.Dependent on funding, stipends are available for transportation, childcare, or other barriers to participation. Must be 18 or older, have basic English and math literacy, and be committed to completing the entire program. Connectivity Hub

We will be launching our new Connectivity Hub in Summer/Fall 2026, thanks to funding from the Maine Connectivity Authority! This work will be integral to closing the digital equity gap in Maine. In collaboration with community partners, we will offer access to free high-speed internet and devices, digital skills and workforce development training, and social service resources to those most impacted by the ongoing digital divide.
