Summer Camp

9 weeks * 3 Camps * 9 fun-filled adventures

Summer is almost here!  Have you registered your child for Summer Camp? YWCA Summer Camps are offering 9 weeks of fun & learning June 23rd – August 22nd.  Join us for 1 or all 9 weeks of camp!  Camp hours are 8:00a-4:30p. Extended care options are also available.

This year our 2014 camp theme is the Great Maine Adventure!  Campers will discover all that Maine has to offer: food, facts, games, history, culture, songs & crafts.  We will be exploring many different Maine locations during our weekly field trips – visiting state parks, historical sites, lighthouses, beaches, nature trails and mining for gems.  Campers will participate in team building activities and challenges weekly, visit local parks, and swimming every day.  Free breakfast and lunches will be provided daily through the Lewiston school lunch program.

They say “Variety is the spice of life” and we believe that too! We strive to accommodate all campers and all of their interests.  Each year we offer 3 different camps:

Camp Kangaroo: For our young campers ages 5-7 (campers must have completed Kindergarten) They will participate in age-appropriate activities and explore Maine but at a slower pace than the older campers.

Camp Weewannago: For our older campers ages 8-12. This camp is full of energy and excitement and they’re always busy. Whether it’s a project, team activity, organized game or swimming, Weewannago Campers are always on the go!

Art Camp: For Campers ages 8-12. This is our 4th year of Art Camp and we are proud to say it has been one of our most popular programs!  Campers will learn about drawing, painting, digital photography, cartooning, film-making, sculpting and performance art.  Registration is limited to 12 campers per week.

Field Trips

Field trips will take place Wednesday of each week. Some of the trips already scheduled include enjoying a day at the Waterville Water Park, Popham Beach, Portland Headlight, Range Pond, visiting historical landmarks in the area, the Maine State Aquarium and many more fun-filled adventures!
