a book club for Girls in 7th and 8th Grade
Read Up, Speak Up! This book club will empower girls through reading. Participants will read one book per month, specifically chosen to generate thoughtful discussion about social issues relevant to 7th and 8th graders including friendship, bullying, body image and family. Weekly meetings are enriched with fun group bonding activities from cooking to crafting. Girls will gain tools to improve reading skills and navigate their social surroundings. This club is facilitated by Libby and Teika, two local college students who can’t wait to read with you!
